Appointed by Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), Rep. Luna will lead this initiative aimed at increasing government transparency on several critical issues, including Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs).The task force's mandate encompasses the declassification of materials related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as well as documents concerning Jeffrey Epstein, the events of September 11, 2001, the origins of COVID-19, and UAPs.Rep. Luna emphasized the importance of acknowledging the existence of UAPs from a governmental perspective, stating, "We're hoping to present that information and at least acknowledge it, from a government perspective, that we are not alone." She also revealed plans to establish a congressional delegation to visit a friendly nation that has already implemented a UFO disclosure program, aiming to learn from their approach. Additionally, the task force is working to facilitate access for whistleblower David Grusch to a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) to discuss UAP-related information.The task force's first hearing is scheduled for March 2025
